About Suitcase List
Suitcase List builds a packing checklist for your trip. Tell it the trip type, climate, number of nights and who's coming, and it gives you a list you can tick off, print or email.
Generic packing lists treat a weekend of camping like a week in a city. We wanted a list that changes with the trip, the weather and the size of your group, and that works as well for a solo carry-on trip as for a family of five.
How lists are built
- Items come from a catalog of everyday travel things, each tagged with the trip types and climates it suits.
- Toggles for toiletries and tech add or remove whole sections. Kids' items only appear when you add kids.
- Quantities are counted per traveler, per adult, per kid or as one shared item. Clothing scales with nights and then stops at a cap, on the idea that you'll do some laundry on longer trips. Carry-on trips cap tops at five per person and leave out bulky items.
- Presets for carry-on only, family beach, camping weekend and digital nomad fill in the questions for you. Change anything before you generate.
The quantities are rules of thumb, not rules. Edit any line, add your own items and remove what you don't need.
What we don't do
- We don't check visas, passports or airline rules for you. Check the official sources for your trip.
- We don't book travel or sell bags, and we're not affiliated with any airline or booking platform.
- We don't store your lists on our servers. They stay in your browser unless you email them to yourself.
How this site is written
